A few times a year it looks a bit like aliens have descended on Udny Pumpkins as visitors arrive and put on bee suits to take part in our Meet the Bees events.

These are run in conjunction with Udny Provender, the Aberdeenshire honey producers who own and manage the bee hives at Udny Pumpkins.

Dr Ewan Campbell from Udny Provender, one of Scotland's leading bee experts, will take you on a tour of a bee hive, and you'll get a chance to have a very close look at the many thousands of bees inside.

Dr Liz Campbell, owner of Udny Provender, will be available to answer questions and to play an educational pollinator game with the younger visitors.

This is a fantastic opportunity to learn more about this crucial pollinator. The bees play an important role pollinating the pumpkin flowers in the pumpkin patch, which enables the pumpkins to grow. Delicious Pumpkin Patch Honey from the hives at Udny Pumpkins will be available to purchase at the event.
